As a provider, my first goal is to help the client feel understood and accepted with their challenges. For the treatment of BFRBs, I use the Comprehensive Model for Behavioral Treatment of Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors. We explore in therapy the unique factors involved with the BFRBs and isolate the most important contributing factors and plan interventions accordingly. Treatment is an individualized approach as the reason's for BFRBs can be different for each person.
