Lindsey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and South Carolina specializing in the treatment of BFRBS. She also treats anxiety disorders, perfectionism, and works with singles navigating the dating world. Lindsey uses a comprehensive, holistic, approach for the treatment of BFRBS rather than viewing and treating the behavior in isolation. She works with clients to understand what is maintaining the behavior, brings awareness to urges, and provides ample relaxation techniques and healthy coping skills. Having personal experience with hair pulling, skin picking, and nail biting when she was younger (and now free from those behaviors), Lindsey loves what she does and is passionate about improving an individual’s quality of life and mental wellness. She is also the author of the BFRB psychology memoir, Life is Trichy.

Lindsey attended several universities across the country, graduated at the top of her class with high distinction from her Masters program, attended The University of Iowa School Psychology Ph.D. Program and did a double practicum placement before transferring to Carlos Albizu University for additional doctoral courses in a Clinical Psychology Psy.D. Program. Lindsey is licensed at the Master’s level and completed her PTI. Her clinical experiences include working at:

-The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic-Challenging Behavioral Unit
-Jackson Memorial Hospital-Pediatric Neuropsychology Rehabilitation Floor
-Goodman Psychological Services Center
-Renfrew Eating Disorder Treatment Center
-Georgia Sheriffs Boys Ranch
-Iowa City School District
-The University of Minnesota Center for RTI in Early Childhood

Her style is warm, compassionate, direct, authentic, and nonjudgmental, which provides her clients the space to access feelings that can be uncomfortable to explore while feeling supported and having ones strengths recognized. Her goal is to create a deep sense of trust and comfort so she and the client together can move into deeper therapeutic work and exploration.

Together, we will adapt these treatments to your specific symptoms and circumstances to meet you where you are and help you move towards your goals in a clear and collaborative manner. Above all, I endeavor to approach my clinical work with an open, kind, and curious nature, and with a sense of humor and humility. I strongly value a warm and collaborative therapeutic relationship, and find that this emphasis helps to foster ongoing progress during this challenging, and valuable, treatment. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with my clients, and specifically utilize the Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB) for BFRBs.
