The goals of these meetings include improving members’ quality of life by reducing shame, voicing struggles in a place with people who understand, and gaining insight into managing urges.

When: One Saturday a month at 7:30 am PT/10:30 am ET unless otherwise stated.

Where: A link in the Facebook event, provided the day of the meeting.

Who: Anyone with excoriation disorder (skin picking) or other BFRBs who is a member of the Skin Picking Support Facebook Group. Minors under 18 must have a legal guardian’s approval to attend.

BFRB Moms Support Group

The BFRB Moms Support Group is a peer-led support group for mothers who have BFRBs to find support and community with other moms with BFRBs that have children. Juggling parenthood with your BFRB can be a challenge. Finding the balance of taking care of family and yourself is hard, and we are here to give support and guidance as you work through your BFRB journey. At our meetings, we will conduct individualized check-ins, provide support, resources, and discuss different ways to decompress and incorporate self-care into our daily lives.

We meet on Zoom on the third Sunday of every month from:
7:30 - 9:00 PM ET
6:30 - 8:00 PM CT
5:30 - 7:00 PM MT
4:30 - 6:00 PM PT

All of our support group meetings are held online via Zoom and we ask all members to read our Code of Conduct before attending.

If you are registering from your phone or a tablet, make sure to separately select the meeting occurrence(s) you wish to attend from the drop-down menu, as you will use this registration link to register for all online meetings.

By registering for a support group meeting, you are agreeing to follow the Code of Conduct. Below is a simplified version of our Code of Conduct.

About: The BFRB (body-focused repetitive behaviors) Moms Support Group is a free, welcoming, safe online space for adults who have trichotillomania, dermatillomania, and/or other BFRBs to receive and give support. The group is a peer-led support group led by other moms who also have BFRBs.

Timeliness: Group will begin on time. Participants who are more than 10 minutes late should not join, as it is disruptive to the flow. If you have an extenuating circumstance you are aware of ahead of time, please contact one of our co-hosts at bfrbmoms@gmail.com to let us know.

Confidentiality: Everything discussed and disclosed during the group is confidential. Group member confidentiality is required - reposting, sharing, texting images from the group, screenshots, and written reviews are prohibited.

Respect and Inclusivity: This group is an inclusive environment, based on treating all individuals respectfully, regardless of gender/gender identity (including transgender status), sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality, ethnicity, or religion (or lack thereof). We value respectful behavior above individual opinions, which includes: Be considerate, kind, constructive, and helpful. Avoid demeaning, discriminatory, harassing, hateful, or threatening behavior, speech, and imagery. If you're not sure what this entails, ask.

If you're attending for the first time or have questions you can email us at bfrbmoms@gmail.com.

We look forward to meeting you!
