I work with older children, adolescents, and female-identifying adults with Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), including Trichotillomania and Excoriation Disorder, as well as anxiety. I treat BFRBs in clients using the Comprehensive Behavior (ComB) Treatment Model as taught by the TLC Foundation, in addition to using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches for both the primary BFRB and secondary diagnoses typically found in clients with BFRBs. Treatment is focused on helping clients gain an understanding of the factors that may contribute to their BFRB; bringing awareness to clients’ mood, thoughts, and behaviors related to and impacted by their BFRB; and working with clients to identify and utilize healthier strategies.
