Dr. William Benson is a staff psychologist at CBT/DBT Associates in midtown Manhattan. He has extensive training in evidence-based, behavioral and cognitive-behavioral treatments for a wide variety of concerns in children, adolescents, and adults. He has specialty training in the treatment of BFRBs as well as tics and Tourette's through his experience with the Rutgers Tourette Syndrome Therapeutic Program. After graduating summa cum laude with departmental honors in psychology at Tulane University, Dr. Benson obtained his doctorate at Rutgers University. He then completed an APA-accredited internship at Nationwide Children's Hospital and a postdoctoral fellowship at The Child Study Center at NYU Langone. Dr. Benson is a licensed psychologist in the state of New York. In addition to his professional membership with the TLC Foundation for BFRBs, Dr. Benson is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and the Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
