Brian J. Schmaus, Ph.D. has extensive experience in treating patients with anxiety and related disorders, including Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors. He enjoys being able to help improve the lives of patients and families. Dr. Schmaus approaches patients with warmth and compassion, working hard to understand each patient's unique situation. He uses empirically supported treatments and tailors every treatment plan to the specific clinical needs of the patient. His work with children and adolescent patients typically includes some parental involvement in sessions, as their role is often instrumental in helping their children to improve in treatment. He is most fascinated by the progress patients can make once they are provided with the skills to change. Dr. Schmaus is a Clinical Psychologist at the Anxiety Treatment Center of Greater Chicago, where his job responsibilities have also included being a supervisor for graduate students as well as Post-Doctoral Fellows.
