Dr. Davidson is a licensed psychologist, Co-Director of the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy, and Asst. Clinical Professor at UC Berkeley. She has 25 years of clinical experience providing cognitive behavior therapy, and she specializes in treating adults with Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (hair pulling and skin picking), OCD, and anxiety (panic, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, worry, and social anxiety). Therapist-led treatment group: Help for Hair Pullers, Skin Pickers, and Other Tricky Habits, an ongoing group for adults with body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). Led by Joan Davidson, Ph.D. and Daniela Owen, Ph.D. at the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy (SFBACCT). Tuesdays from 12-1:20 at 5435 College Avenue in Oakland (Rockridge district). Cost is $100/session with an initial 8-session commitment. After the initial eight weeks, members can continue each month on an ongoing basis. If you're new to learning about treatment for BFRBs, an individual session or two may be needed to learn about the treatment model and begin developing your individualized treatment plan.
