Terika has training with a particular focus on using evidence-based therapies to treat Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Depression, and other trauma-based therapies. Terika is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Terika has a growing specialty working with Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs: for example skin picking and hair pulling). Terika has enjoyed working with children, adolescents and adults who have anxiety, OCD, trauma, and substance use. In addition, Terika has intensive experience using exposure therapy to decrease anxiety in children.
Terika earned her B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Science (Neurobiology Concentration) and B.A. in Psychology at the University of Rochester (UR). She completed her M.S. in Community Mental Health Counseling at the University of Rochester: Warner School of Education. Terika’s internship experience was at URMC’s Pediatric Behavioral Health & Wellness and Rochester Community Mobile Crisis Team. Terika is currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor. Terika has participated in a conference through TLC to provide BFRB treatment.
